Ministry Of Education And Vocational Training Will Allocate 1.3 Million Euros To Digital Training

The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MEFP) today presented the Plan for the improvement of educational digital competence in the city of Melilla, in a ceremony held at the IES Virgen de la Victoria. It is about the development of part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan in the autonomous city and has an investment of 1,311,300 until 2024 for the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla. At the end of the month, the MEFP will present the project for Ceuta.

The Plan presented yesterday provides for the training and certification in teaching digital competence of Melilla teachers, as well as the review or development of a digital plan in all non-university education centers in the city.

In the rest of the national territory, this initiative has been carried out through the Territorial Cooperation Program for the Improvement of the digital Competence of the educational system , for which almost 12 million euros have been distributed in 2021. In total, the autonomous communities will receive 296,688,800 euros for this program until 2024.

The event in Melilla was attended by, among others, Julio Albalad, director of the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training (INTEF), belonging to the MEFP, the provincial director of Education, Juan Ángel Berbel Galera, and other local representatives and the education system. The presence of members of the management teams of all the educational centers of the city stands out , given their necessary involvement in the development of the Plan and the accompaniment work carried out by the Technical Teaching Advisor responsible for its implementation in the educational centers of the autonomous city. .

The presentation session has included the explanation of the Plan ; a round table in which good educational practices on digital competence have been shared; and the intervention of Fernando Trujillo Sáez, professor at the Faculty of Education, Economics and Technology of Ceuta at the University of Granada, entitled “Educational digital competence: students, teachers, school. A competition for a new society”.

The digitization of the education system is, together with the promotion of equity and the promotion of Vocational Training, one of the priorities of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan in educational matters.
